The potatoes with this dish were slightly undercooked. Which was perfectly cooked chorizo added the perfect meaty spice, while the squid ink sauce tied it together nicely. Lastly, the star of the meal was the octopus. The mash potatoes were good, but you can't mess up mash potatoes too often. The lobster bisque was okay, I expected it to be drizzled with a cream sauce, however it only came with croutons and chives. The Ahi Tuna Tartare was refreshing and tasty, it had watermelon chunks added in which gave the fish a nice balance.įor my entree I tried the lobster bisque, octopus, and mash potatoes. We had a hard time picking so we consulted with the server and "cheese specialist" and were very happy with the cheese and meat selections. To start we had a Charcuterie board (the chefs selection of five) and Ahi tuna Tartare. She was phenomenal throughout the dinner, and wish I could remember her name. Our server was prompt to greet us and give recommendations. We were greeted immediately, and picked our own seating. Went on a Monday night and the place was still relatively busy. I hope to get the beautiful wooden tables, blankets and chairs back and that this horrible tent is getting removed. The short ribs were really delicious and so was every other thing we ordered. I am not sure if this is a good advertisement. I know about the fact that the location plays into pricing, but yeah. Most of the plants have now mildew due to lack of light and uneven watering what's odd considering this is such an "upscale" (extremely overpriced) garden nursery and design retail store. I always loved the flowers plantings at Rogers Gardens Farmhouse. I am not sure who decided to pitch this awfully looking, war-lazarette tent in the middle of this quaint place. The food and drinks are still really good, but the ambience is just absolutely shocking. It provided amazing service as well as food and drinks. The Farmhouse was for years a beautifully decorated gem. I would come back literally just for this sundae and a drink. But the way they served it, with the hot fudge on the side…it was delicious and anything but ordinary. At first I thought it wouldn’t be special because it wasn’t the chocolate soufflé. ![]() The sundae I think was my favorite part of the meal. I had sips of both drinks and they were very good. My husband also had the Russian river valley Pinot noir and the cocktail infused with smoke (I think it included the words ‘red sky’ and ‘sailor’). I loved the salad, crab cakes, complimentary bread and butter, prime rib, and the ice cream sundae. The only reason I took off one star is because their potatoes weren’t as good compared to the outstanding quality of everything else we received. We were able to get mashed potatoes as our side instead of the creamed spinach or creamed corn. We decided to do the dinner for two special they had- which included a crab cake appetizer, spring salad, prime rib (you could also choose salmon or a risotto), and hot fudge sundae. The ambience was beautiful and comfortable. Excellent dining experience and service here at Five Crowns.
